But really...how perfect is this vintage sweater pattern? I love it to bits!
I've been searching for my own vintage horse sweater to no avail.
And, oh, to just sit and craft! (sigh). lol. I'm sorely missing crafty time - granted, one of my projects is a needle felted/crocheted bowl that I get to stitch a pattern into this week (yay!), but it's different having to do it...you know?
Anyhoo - it's been quite the week and I'm starting to feel frazzled. On the upside, I haven't had to pull an all nighter to finish homework, yet (nor have I been sick - thank you, Emergen-C!), but I'm sorely in need of a day off to sleep in. Work is crazy busy. School is crazy busy. Why are they always busy at the same time, I always wonder? Always. lol. I was hoping for Wednesday night off after my art history final (which I'm just starting to study for - ack!) to hang out with mister husband, am juggling a crazy hard research essay, I have to build a unicorn chair in two weeks (does this girl woodwork? no!), alongside two sensory/media projects...and I'm already running out of steam. Yikes!! Anyhoo - it's almost over. Though everyday I add a 'reward' to my 'when-I'm-done-school-and-work' list...he he. So if it's quiet around here, that's what I'll be doing...
...when I'm not dreaming of making this here sweater. :)

I had a little guest post up at One Pearl Button, yesterday - a peek into one of my (many) work-in-progresses! It's maybe an odd choice for a summer project, but the colors are right-on for this bright season we're in the middle of. :)

I took these photos weeks ago, now, and this is still sitting on my desk, waiting to be finished (but don't worry - it's not lonely!! lol. There are other 'unfinisheds' to keep it company!). And it does look so pretty, there...

Sometimes I feel buried in half-done things, and I wish I could follow through on my whims more quickly, but - secretly - I really like switching it up and hopping from project to project. It keeps me on my creative toes!

I was cleaning my computer off the other day (I've been on a organize-my-workspace-kick this week), and I came across these work-in-progress photos I made of a blanket I gave my mom last Christmas - I don't think I have a photo of the whole finished blanket, cuz I was literally crocheting it together on Christmas eve - lol - but I made the whole thing in these lovely jewel-tone colors using this ''Willow'' square pattern from 200 crochet squares.
I alternated making the inner colors of the squares between pink, purple, turquoise, and green - and then edged them all in a mulberry & cream yarn, and joined them together with the cream, as well. I really really loved how it turned out (and so did mom!). I loved the square pattern, too!
I'm so craving some yarn time right now, but I've been busy busy drawing logos and stamps and website designs this week - and, totally randomly, some essays on economics I've had to write - ugh! It's kind of been a nice change, drawing again - I get rusty when it's been a while! :) I'll show you some drawings, soon!

This week I finally had a moment to pull out my granny squares to keep chugging on the blanket I'm making - finally! I was starting to get a little antsy, it'd been so long since I crocheted, last! lol. Too funny...
I'm still working on the last round of cream (the round that makes the circle middles into squares), and I'm not quite halfway done the 180 squares, yet - the pile is now so big already that it continually fell all over the floor yesterday while I kept piling them precariously on top of eachother - lol - I have to find somewhere to store them until I join them into the blanket, pronto!
I'm definitely falling more and more in love with my blanket-to-be as I go!
On another note - off I go, camping for the long weekend! Camping again, yes. It's Victoria day, here in Canada. We're only going for two nights, this time, with some work folks - the sun is shining, I'm almost all packed up, and s'more goodies are waiting to be made tonight over the fire - perfect!
