Oh, man.
I've been so quiet here because I've begun the epic school/work balance, again!
For those who don't know - I'm currently in my second year of studying to get my Bachelor's of Design, and continuing to work my fave job at an animation studio.
I'm having a crazy hard time getting motivated to do homework, so far - I think since I had so much extreme downtime in the summer (thanks, accident). I'm already having to tell myself, 'I just have to make it through one more year of this, man. One more year.' It's not for lack of enjoying my classes - it's more like next year I'm not sure what I'm doing for work, but it won't be full time, I can tell ya that. I flip flop between, 'Man, I'm getting too old for this' and 'It's only 8 more months, dude'! lol. The reward is when I see my savings account grow every couple weeks - it'll be so helpful for the last 2 years to have a little next egg for school: and I'm the worst at saving money, sometimes, so it's encouraging... :)
The motivation problem comes when my one day 'off' rolls around and it's hard to convince myself to do homework....lol. The couch looks awful cozy...
So anyhoo - I've been trying to psych myself up and get used to my new crazy schedule: 4 classes, 40 hours of work, homework, and the husband.
Not to mention, I also have major jones' to move out of our spider-infested basement suite that I've had to suppress, too. Man, we're ready to buy a place. So ready. I would've last month, if I could've used my right hand, perhaps - lol - would've moved in a second. Given that I have -20 available hours in a week, though - we have to wait until this year of classes is over. (sigh). Or at least we can start getting the ball rolling so we can move as soon as school is over...
Decorating a new place in the Spring?! A place of our own?
I'm already giddy & dreaming of unreno'd, avocado-applianced sixties apartments.
On the upside, my once-fractured right hand graduated from physio a few weeks ago, and is now able to hold chopsticks (for a little bit), draw loosely, take notes, and I rode my bike for the first time in two months the other day... :) Yesss. I've slowly been working back up to some sort of used-to-riding-my-bike fitness level, but it's been tough goins'. lol.
What have you been up to?
I'm crazy psyched for this year: with it will finally come time to be able to focus on making/designing stuff. And school, fully. And sewing a dress or two, for chrissakes. There's been waaaay not enough crafty time, lately! Dreams will be realized, man.
