The mister's birthday was at the beginning of September, so the second weekend of the month we went out for a spin with some friends from work on a lovely, summery Saturday morning - it's a half-size Viking Ship replica that sails around English Bay with a small crew of volunteers. So fun!
We had great weather & rad company, and I thought it would be the perfect chance (since I couldn't row the ship, due to my hand recooperating from it's fracture) to snap some shots with my new (old) Canon AE-1...on auto, mind you.
This is some of the first roll, shot on my new baby:
Oh, man - the colors! The grain! The real light-on-film action! :)
I'm totally obsessed and geeking out over my '80's camera, dude.
What a fun little day trip it was to capture, too!
I'm working on my first photography class assignment and I started shooting today - it's totally scary not knowing what's going to come out! Knowing that I'm grasping around trying to understand shutter speed and aperture and all that other manual jazz while trying to implement it under a deadline, but having no reassurance yet that things are somewhat cool enough to present in class...lol. Ah! We're shooting ghosts and ufo's, so there's a bit of kitschy, blooper-y wiggle room, at least...but, oh, that anticipation before developing!
Shot any film lately? Or spent the last days of summer somewhere fun?
