Another shot from my first diana mini roll.
All this talk about Autumn on blogs - man, it's got me down. I refuse to acknowledge it's almost September, and am instead hoping for many more sunny days. Despite the accident, I'd still like a sunny camping trip and a few warm bike rides before we're covered in leaves, thank you!
I was crazy looking forward to having a few months at home this summer. Some nothing. A break from school. A settle. A lot of sleeping in. I wanted to make a lot of things and do this and do that, as usual - but mostly, I wanted to get around not by being stuck on stinky public hot summer-filled buses. Ew.
I miss riding my bicycle soooo much!
Be careful what you wish for, I guess? I ended up having to do a whole lot of nothing at home, this summer, by the end of it. But that's a whole nother post.
I was thinking after my liver injury was in the clear post-accident (which brings me to about here, the end of August, when the nothing-crazy-strenuous activity ban can slowly begin to be lifted) I could start riding again, but I forgot the whole part where my hand is still too bruised or weak to grasp onto the handle well enough. Urgh!
I have had two physio appointments and can use my right hand now for most light daily activities - it bends the same as my other hand, now (yay!), but still with a little bit of discomfort, so the next 5 weeks I get to build strength back up in it to normalness. I'm so excited! To hold my pencil properly, to help with dishes, to braid my hair...ah. To ride my bike. :)
Hang in there with me, sunshine!
In the meantime, I figure I'll work a bit more strength into my hand by carrying my diana mini around the 'hood and snap-snapping. Now that little baby I can handle with weak-but-growing-sronger fingers!
We're going camping next weekend to my most favorite spot, and last night we hit up a local amusement park - I figure if I can't go on many rides, at least I can hang out with my lil camera and eat elephant ears and cotton candy. :) And that that bike ride isn't too far off, then.
What do you think - are you ready for fall??
Or do you long for the dog days of summer to keep going, like me?
