Oh, Monday. You are my foe.
It was back to school this week, for me. Only 7 weeks (or less?) to go...I can't wait for a break, man! This semester has been hit and miss, for me. Don't like it as much as last semester, so it's sometimes been a drudge through it. lol. I had a pretty good weekend...drinks on Friday, a bit of work to keep up at the studio, and then chillin with the mister (we're newly obsessed with the brilliance that is 'Community')...Sunday is always groceries, cleaning, and homework. Ugh!
This week is turning out to look a bit killer...work deadline week (every second week), school, a big essay due Thursday, a meeting with my group for a presentation on the same day after work tomorrow, a few hours at the print studio after work on Tuesday for some stuff due Friday, and hopefully planning/purchasing our big Europe trip at the end of the week...finally!
We meant to look into more trip stuff today, but I ended up having more homework than I thought + a late start = grumpy husband. Frustrating!! lol.
Anyhoo - we're planning on travelling for 7 weeks or so, in about a month and a half...lol. Exciting!! We have to make sure the money is okay before we book everything (for sure sure), but the trip will involve visiting the hubs' family in Boston, heading to Europe from there (we're thinking Italy and mister husband's home country - Bulgaria - for sure, and hopefully some France, too) for 5 weeks, back to Calgary to visit my family, and then home before my/our next work contract starts. Crazy? A bit. lol.
Honestly, I was looking forward to nothing more than sitting on my butt for a few months and recooperating from this work/school crazyness, but we rarely (read: never!) both have time off in the summer, so we gotta go! Once in a lifetime - and we've been talking about it for years! I'm so dying to see more of Europe. So. Can't wait!
If you have any travelling-in-Europe tips, please share your wisdom!
Any cheap fly-out-of-the-USA airlines? I'm clueless on that front, being from Canada and all. lol. Little gems to visit in Italy? Favorite places to go? Flea market spots? I've been to France before, and know some spots there...so I know about trains and cheap tequila beer...lol. And we'll be backpack-only travelling and probably mostly hostel-hopping...
I'm truly just dying to hit up some European flea markets. Really, that and the art gallerties are all I want to do. And homemade gnocchi in Italy! Eeek!
I'd love to hear your tips and travel experiences. :)
