Cutest little stitched mushrooms, ever!
I have a feeling this little thrift find of mine has been a work in progress, since it's barely hooped and dated 1980 (I don't feel so bad about my year-long incomplete projects, now...) - but I had to nab it for the steeper-than-I-normally-pay-for-tiny-things price it was going for. I have fond memories of one of these puffy embroidery pieces hanging in my room that I think my mom made when I was tiny.
I can't for the life of me find what this kind of craft is called, though! Puffy embroidery?? I forgot to ask my mom, tonight - lol. Do you know?
Anyhoo - it's sweet, isn't it? I would love to learn how to do this, one day - it's officially added to my list of vintage projects to do one day: alongside macrame, crewel, and paint by numbers (from a genuine old kit) top that list.
PS - I love going thrift shopping with mister husband lately because he always gets more than me! lol. Really. Boy came home with a suede coat, two pans, a knife, and various other things. I have to say, it makes me feel good only adding this to the pile, for once. :) And to have convinced him to come with!
