I was tagged (thank you!) And it seemed like good incentive to get a little real in here, amidst the crafty posts, on my strapped-for-time day off this week. :)
Yesterday, wearing a handmade cowl on a walk around the neighbourhood.
Random Stuff:
1. We saw 'Tintin' yesterday, which was pretty cool...until I started dozing off near the end, aka the most action-packed part of the film. lol. Really?! Kind of wishing we saw 'The Artist' instead, even though I know silent films make me pass out, and popcorn for lunch makes me sleepy...
2. Speaking of ''The Artist'', I really want/still need to see lots of nominated Oscar flicks - ''Tree of Life'' tops my list, too. I like to try to see them every year, even though we just cut off cable and won't be able to watch the awards live. Do you try to watch the nominated films? Usually by now I've seen a buinch, but not this year! We also just started watching 'Breaking Bad', which I love, so far. :)
3. I'm going to try to schedule a few posts, today (between reading & drawing homework) to get things back to normal here, this week. I'm finally getting into a routine with this new school/work schedule (I even have time to cook & tidy the house, so far! lol), but blogging has yet to fit into it, because I have no breaks with my laptop in the middle of the day, now. After class, I head to work. After work, I do homework...lol. Trying to find a place for it.
4. Also, trying to get a handle on how best to document my university work. I made a lot of stuff last semester and sketched a lot, and I really want to photograph & share it - I'm not feeling too inspired, though, because the natural light in our basement looks very yellow in photos (still finding the best spots and times of day, here) - I think outside will work well, but it's so rainy right now. May have to slowly wait until the summer to get it all...
5. I've been collecting thrifted stuff for the house and hanging things up, finally. (I convinced mister husband to come thrifting two weekends in a row - success!) On my list-to-thrift: beautiful old chairs, those stretchy wooden wall hangers/racks, a spice rack, and heavy curtains to keep the cold out. Newest addition: the City & Colour screenprinted poster I got at the show a few weeks back.
6. I went to a play (''Red'') with my English class about Rothko this week, and it was pretty cool to learn about what his Abstract Expressionist paintings were all about. I had no idea! And I got to sit next to the sweetest old ladies, who said ''all these people on their darn ipods!'' at one point and I wanted to hug them. :) Not having a phone, tis exactly how I feel when people shine them in my face in dark theatres.
7. I had a few hours alone after a busy week and full day of class/work on Friday, so I settled in with ''I Love You Phillip Morris'' (one of the funniest movies I've seen, lately!) and quickly stitched up a chunky cowl made from green 'Thick & Quick' yarn. Can't wait to wear it!'
Okay, that's my brain today.
And now I've ignored homework for long enough, here! lol. :)
I'm off to make Chai Concentrate, figure out how to make my own latte-like coffee at home so as to save a few bucks this week, and get all my homework done so my week is easy-peasy.
What are you up to, today?
