Were you wondering where my posts from the blog party were?? lol.
I haven't had a moment to post any yet! (Mostly cuz I'm a slow photo editor...lol). Actually - there are many projects of mine not-yet-posted, but I think we have enough to oogle over, for now - so I'll tell you more about upcoming blog posts/projects tommorrow.
Right now, I have a freebie vintage crochet pattern for you!
It marks the final blog party post! Whoooo!
Thanks *so much* for stopping by, and to the blog sponsors & guest artists who contributed to make this one inspiring party! The giveaways are still open until Saturday, Dec. 11th - so don't forget to enter (& tell your friends to enter!).
I'll be back late tomorrow with a little 'what's next', post...I'm a little blogged out right now. :) lol. Happy & inspired, but all blogged out.
And, now - wanting to crochet!!
Since I learned to crochet a few months ago, and tried my hand at a few 'vintage-inspired' crochet patterns, I've been jonesing over (and collecting) quite the little stack of vintage vintage crochet patterns from Etsy & my thrift adventures.
(The little stacks of old lady's magazines & workbooks and discarded knitting needles is always my favorite place to dig through! he he).
Anyhoo, I found this lovely Rose pattern in one of the vintage books, and thought it would look cute done in updated colors (it originally called for a rather-Christmasey red + green +white combination) - to share with you!

I used a 4mm crochet hook & Medium/Worsted Weight yarn for mine:
- Vanna's Choice in Mustard & Terracota
- Paton's Canadiana in Aran
I altered the back of the potholder - the pattern calls for a 'thumb', like an oven mitt has, but I want to hang mine on the wall (and therefore have a flat back), so I just skipped that step and continued doing rounds until I had 72 stitches in the row it calls for them, and then went back to following the pattern.
Other than that, it was very easy-peasy and came together in no time! :) It's also very sturdy done in the medium yarn, perfect for keeping shape while hung up!
I thought it was so cute, I couldn't stop taking pictures! lol.
I hope you wanna geek/grandma-out as much as I did, making this!
*You can download the pattern in .png format, as well as .pdf.
