Oh my. Hello, friends! :)
It feels like it's been a looong time - it's nearly been 2 weeks! he he.

A wonderful week of vacation was had, I have to say! I got back home from everything early on Monday but it's been whirlwind since then, so here I am!

Our first official car road trip (we don't own a car & hubby just got his license renewed a few months ago) took us to my cousin's lovely wedding & visits with family, camping in the Okanagan & looking for Sasquatches (yesss), hot springs, and then to top it all off, I had the most lovely of crafty weekends in Seattle that I'm just realizing I forgot to/couldn't finish a blog post about before I went - eek! I think I mentioned it, but I didn't say where exactly I went. hmm...

Can you guess where I've been crafting?

Picture this: a beautiful old house full of whirring sewing machines, busy crochet needles, colorful yarn & garlands, suitcases & tables of vintage goodies (eeek!), and sooo much productivity and inspiration from many lovely fellow crafty souls - not to mention the loveliest of lovely ladies guiding us along the way - a crafter I'm sure you admire. :) Happppyyyy....

I'm all smiles today. Have been all week, in fact.

It was such a perfectly peachy weekend. So lovely in every way. My belly is happy from yummy home-cooked food, my bag is full of handmade goodness & new finished projects. I'm renewed creatively and really really motivated to get going on things that have been in my get-it-going pile for a long while. Yay! It's just all around a good inspired feeling I have welling up inside. :)

I'll be back here with some eye candy once I wade through photos from the trip & weekend - pictures are already starting to pop up online from the other lovelies I met and it's so exciting! :) he he. Will share as soon as I can!

And speaking of the get-it-going pile, I'm super-behind on stuff right now: freelance work, long overdue fun work, blog posts, photos...you name it. Agh! It's overwhelming but doable, though. As it always is around vacation time. I was hoping to start getting back on track Tuesday, but I've been fighting a super-pesky dry cough for about a week and a half, now, so that hasn't happened. Starting tonight & into this catch-up weekend, here I come!

My sincere apologies if you're waiting on and e-mail or anything from me -
I'm backlogged on those the most, but hope to be caught up by tomorrow night.

Whew. It's been a whirlwind week.

Literally go-go-go until the second we step out the door, which is late/soon, cuz hubby's out picking up the rental car as we speak and my tummy is rumbling for lunch and we need to be somewheres at 5:30. Agh! 'Fly-by-the-seat-of-our pants' & camping is our only plan for a few days after my lovely cousin Lisa's wedding on Saturday. :) Yay! Should be lovely. Much, much needed break & our first week off together in a looong while (ie: all summer!).

I'll be back in a week to poke in here before I head out to Seattle for a super-special next weekend! Sorry, no lovely eye candy is scheduled to post while I'm gone (sigh). I am not so organized today.

Now, off into the car I go - madly crocheting the rest of my cuz's wedding present, which I feel I'll be doing/finishing until I put it into her hands! lol.

Summer of Love/My Art Journal - Pt. 3

Hello, guys! :)

First of all, I gotta say thanks *so much* for all the love and sweet words both here & over at Sassafras - I have the bestest readers in the whole world, I think!! :) I'm sending you love & good ju-ju back, too!

Here's the third (and my most favorite favorite thing I've made in a long while...) page in my art journal from the Summer of Love journal I made back in June.
Parts 1 & 2 are right here, if you missed them.

It's, again, totally not very readable, journalling-wise - but I know what it says - which is all that really matters in an art journal, yeah? And it majorly helped me fall in love with the messyness of my hurried writing. :) I used pencil, pencil crayon, and a fine-tipped black pen to do all of the text - and lots of fabric scraps, the spine of my book-cover book, old film, and a few other favorite little bits & bobs.And the sewing! Oh, the sewing. I'm so addicted to thread + paper. :)

I found this photo from the lovely Birds Nest and Paper and fell in love with it!
It had the cutest writing on the back, and I pondered the story for a bit. :)

I'm really really craving and art journal hour or so right about now, especially after looking back at this book, but literally tonight I need to finish an invitation design, 2 illustrations, and a friends' thank-you card cuz tomorrow is my last night in town for a week! :) Eeek! Wish me luck! lol. Hello, coffee I say - and Diane Birch is my new all-nighter best tune friend.

I hope this lil art journal o' mine has inspired you to write illegibly and show an old book some love! he he. And remember, Kara's lovely class for which this book was made is still available in her shop, The Sequined Shoe!

'One Fall Day' Paper Goodness.

The weather is starting to change for the chillier, here - I wore my boots today for the first time in months to avoid wet feet from the rain, and they're protesting/missing flip-slops like crazy, already. I'm a bare foot kinda girl. I'm not ready for fall, but in some ways I am. If that makes sense...I feel like I need more beach time, but I do love hoodies so. :) lol.

Anyhoo - hello, tangent - I got an e-mail from the lovely Stephanie of Bella Blvd saying a page I'd made back in June for their CHA booth was up on their cute blog today for their new (and perfectly well-timed) 'One Fall Day' collection, and it seemed really fitting considering my tights & coat - so here she be!

I just love all of the fun colors & patterns in every one of their collections - it was so lovely to work with! Not to mention the stickers - usually I'm not much of a sticker user, but the little letters had me at hello. :) After seeing this again, today, it totally had me in a fall mood. :) You? Ready for fall?

I feel like it's been a bit since I posted any pages/paper stuff! lol....but then I remembered that I just posted the art journal. Goodness. Anyhoo - it's cuz I have some new sass burning a whole on my work desk. :) he he.

Hi, guys! :)

Just popping in to say hello - wow it's been busy around here, lately - you know it's busy when I miss pirate friday! There have been lots of new faces popping by, too, thanks to Sassafras and Scrapscene and Bella Blvd over the last few days, so double-extra hello if it's your first time stopping by!

I feel like I need as many hands as this guy this week - hah - well, minus the smoking one - eew. I find this totally funny but creepy but possibly useful...lol.
