We have new (old?) addition to our little family!!
Sadness: a few weeks ago, hubby's beloved bicycle was stolen from where it was locked up outside our apartment building. :( Sad! It was a gloomy day.
Happiness: This was the perfect push to get a motorcycle finally, which he's been wanting for ages - so he's now the proud owner of Old Lady Blue, a lovely big ol '77 Honda. (that's about all I know about it, technical-stuff-wise! lol).
He said 'what about this one?', and I made sure it passed the older-than-me?
test - lots of them didn't, I'm not a fan of new bikes - and said 'yay!'
Isn't she lovely? She's in awesome shape for an old bike!
I've now been searching for a gear + a cute-but-functional/safe helmet for about 2 weeks now, so hadn't been able to ride her with Tzanko until a nice guy from work let me borrow his wife's helmet so we could at least scoot around and find one of my own for the last few days!
However, I'm trying to avoid looking like a spaceman, helmet-wise, but it seems they only sell helmets for spacemen, nowadays. lol. Not a fan. (edit: we went hunting for helmets @ lunch today and found a not-so-spaceman one at a Vespa place. I had my eye on this beauty, but it didn't look so hot, after all - plus it was a little scary on the wallet. Cushy, little-bit-spacey helmet, it is!).
Anyhoo - we're vehicle-less people. So this really will make getting away on the weekends in the beautiful backyard of ours that is BC sooo much easier! Hammock-camping, here we come!
BTW - totally getting my own bike, now. I'm not much a fan of being behind the bike-driver/doubling. Somebody's - ahem - head's in my way so I can't see where we're going, and I hate the whole I'm-not-the-one-steering thing. Learner's, here we come!
Do you like doubling on a bike, or do you want your own, too? he he.
I've never ridden until now, oddly enough, but it's growing on me. :)
& I've always been a closet lover of motorcycles + the boys who ride them.
